Evaluation of Soil-Water Characteristic Curves for Different Textural Soils Using Fractal Analysis

چکیده
The soil-water characteristic curve (SWCC) is an essential tool to determine hydraulic and mechanical properties of unsaturated soils. As inherent influencing factor, soil texture controls the characteristics SWCCs. Fractal theory can quantitatively describe physical soil. This study used particle size distribution data water content contained in UNSODA2.0 database explore fractal 12 types with different textures under matrix suctions. SWCC model was adopted characterize various textures. findings revealed that mass dimensions particles from these significantly differed were closely related clay content. dimension increased increasing established a good relationship between structure properties. analysis be connection parameters. estimated results indicated it had performance regarding description SWCCs for could described through dimensions, which effectively indicate characteristics. this obtained by distribution.
